Bill made the call "whos up for some SUP fishing then" - 8.30am on a sunday morning the weary SUP'ers assembled..
Bill with a stack of board and fishing gear, along with Tim, Eric, Clive and Me - after an hour of un tangling fishing line, getting hooks stuck in everything and trying to fix a storage box onto one of the boards we were off....
All started of well, nice and calm but it went down hill from there. Ive not fished for 20 odd years, so i was please to be able to cast - Eric wasnt to happy when i nearly hooked him after a couple of minutes. During a long spell of casting drifting, casting drifting well talked about the important aspects of SUP board design.
if went along the lines of "why don't the include a parasol on these", "why didnt we bring air guns", "im bored" and then excitment....
Eric had managed to create a beautiful birds nest of off nothing but a fishing reel - well done!
after half an hour of trying to sort it, Eric gave up, so i gave him my rod and i paddled the couple of miles back to my local beach.
its a few hours later now, ive not heard how much 'we' caught but i think the planned BBQ might be on hold
